Sergey Pepeliaev, Pepeliaev Group's Managing Partner, has been awarded the F.N. Plevako golden medal “For professional excellence and accomplishments in safeguarding the rights and legitimate interests of individuals and legal entities”. The award was presented on 26 April 2018 during the XVIII official ceremony for presenting the highest awards named after F.N. Plevako to attorneys based on the results of 2016-2017.
Sergey Pepeliaev has over 30 years' hands-on experience of dealing with corporate and personal taxation issues. He has resolved countless challenging situations involving investments and court proceedings. As an attorney, he has safeguarded the rights and interests of Russian and international companies in large-scale and landmark cases in state commercial courts, the Russian Supreme Court and the Russian Constitutional Court. Mr Pepeliaev is continually invited by the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the Russian Presidential Administration, the Russian Ministry of Finance and other state authorities to take part in the drafting of legislation. He is a member of the Expert Board of the Russian Ministry of Justice, the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and others.
He is a member of the Board of the Moscow Region Chamber of Attorneys. He plays an active role in state and public projects relating to the development of the legal profession, advocacy and the judicial system in Russia. In 2013, the All-Russian Congress of Attorneys elected Mr Pepeliaev to the board of the Federal Chamber of Attorneys. For his active academic and educational work in tax law, for promoting the legal profession, promoting advocacy, and for succeeding in protecting civil rights and freedoms, the Federal Chamber of Attorneys has awarded Mr. Pepeliaev the Order “For fidelity to an attorney’s duty”, the medal “For outstanding protection of civil rights and freedoms” and the F.N. Plevako silver medal.
F.N. Plevako awards are among the most prestigious awards in the Russian community of attorneys. The F.N. Plevako golden medal is awarded to attorneys for exceptional accomplishments in safeguarding constitutional rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of the public, outstanding professional skills, a major contribution to the development of advocacy, many years of dedicated work in providing highly qualified legal assistance, the development of legal science, and the training of qualified lawyers.
