The second phase is located on an area of 300 acres and will be fully allocated to establish a logistic center for storage and service containers after the completion of customs procedures.
"We are currently preparing the legal consultancy for the project (the first phase 100 acres) and we are currently finalizing the Tender Documents, including the draft PPP contract to be concluded between the General Authority for Lands and Dry Ports with the winning bidder." Added Dr. Sarie Eldin
The strategic location of the Project, close to the industrial zone of 6th of October City and the heart of Cairo City, allows the transfer of part of container traffic between the ports of Alexandria and Dekheila from road to railway network which allows reducing the burden on the ports of Alexandria and Dekheila, as the Dry Port provides storage and customs clearance services.
