The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has recently launched a project to assist Ukraine in its development of an online court. Sayenko Kharenko has been selected by the EBRD to advise on the relevant Ukrainian law aspects.
An online court is designated to increase access to justice for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as well as to decrease the costs of the proceedings. Online court is expected to cover all stages, from preparing a claim to rendering a judgement. It will also propose alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
Sayenko Kharenko acts as a local consultant to provide EBRD with analysis of the Ukrainian procedural rules and regulations on judiciary system. Sayenko Kharenko lawyers are also involved in developing the concept of the future online court in Ukraine.
The work on the project involves not only legal but also technical, practical and social aspects. Ukrainian online court is envisaged as efficient and user-friendly for both litigants and the judiciary.
Sayenko Kharenko team includes partner Olexander Droug, senior associate Andriy Stetsenko and associate Dmytro Derkach.
