Mexico City, February 12, 2018. Santamarina y Steta advised both Bartlett Grain and Grupo Contri in obtaining the authorization from the Federal Economic Competition Commission for the acquisition by Bartlett Grain of approximately 78% of Bagalmex, S.A. de C.V., holding company of Grupo Contri.
In Mexico both groups are primarily dedicated to the commercialization of white and yellow corn, wheat, milo and DDG. Before closing the transaction, Bartlett operated a grain warehousing and distribution installation in Aguascalientes. By acquiring Contri, Bartlett Grain will now operate the largest grain warehousing and distribution center in Mexico City and its greater area, serving an area where around 25 million people live.
The new combined company will be named Bartlett-Contri. The value of the transaction is confidential.
