Law firm Russell-Cooke has announced the promotion of senior associates Pieter Boodt in the firm's Real Estate team, and Shabnam Ali-Khan in the enfranchisement team, to partner. Their appointments are effective as of 1 July 2021.

Pieter Boodt joined Russell-Cooke as an associate in 2017 and was appointed senior associate in 2018. He advises clients on commercial real estate transactions, including site assembly, development, the acquisition and disposal of investment assets, and real estate finance. His portfolio of clients includes developers, investors, and charitable organisations.

Pieter has a particular expertise in advising on the development of industrial sites, mixed use schemes and manufacturing facilities, working closely with the wider firm's construction, planning, and corporate and commercial teams.

Shabnam Ali-Khan joined Russell-Cooke as an Associate in 2015 and was made a senior associate in 2017. Prior to moving into private practice, she worked for the Leasehold Advisory Service for 14 years as an adviser and manager. As part of Russell-Cooke's enfranchisement team, she specialises in handling lease extension and enfranchisement matters. Her practice often involves issues relating to landlord and tenant matters such as the right to manage, service charges and commonhold structures. Her clients include high-net-worth individuals, companies and investor landlords.

These promotions bring the total number of partners at Russell-Cooke to 63.

Along with Pieter and Shabnam's promotions, the firm has recently announced four senior associate promotions which are also effective from 1 July 2021. The new senior associates are:
