The partners of Raue law firm have elected a new management board. Dr Markus Plesser will be the new managing partner with effect from 1 August 2024. He succeeds Dr Wolfram Hertel, who is giving up the position after four years.

 

Markus Plesser is a partner in the media practice area and has been a lawyer with Raue and its predecessor law firms since 2000. He advises national and international clients on trademark and competition law as well as IP, IT and data protection issues. Together with Dr Katharina Wodarz, Markus Plesser is currently representing DocMorris in a high-profile landmark case before the ECJ on price advertising by EU mail-order pharmacies. Commenting on his election as new Managing Partner, Markus Plesser said: "I would like to thank all my colleagues for their confidence in me and Wolfram Hertel for his successful work over the past four years. I am very much looking forward to the new challenges and to building on the success of our firm together with my team". Wolfram Hertel adds: "I am delighted to be handing over the office to Markus Plesser. The firm is in good hands with him. His special experience in the field of IT/IP is of particular value for the upcoming decisions of the firm's management, especially in the current situation".

 

The management board of Raue consists of a partners’ committee elected by the partnership. Dr Maren Bedau was newly elected to the board as deputy managing partner. Partners Judith Heyn, Dr Michael K. Bergmann, Dr Nadine Hartung and Friedrich Tobias Schöne remain members of the committee. There are also other specialist departments, including Dr Robert Heine, who is responsible for issues relating to the use of artificial intelligence in legal work.
