Oon & Bazul LLC has changed its name to Bazul LLC, marking the evolution from a full-service Singapore law firm into a disputes-only practice.

Over a two-year period, the firm made the strategic decision to focus exclusively on dispute resolution, exiting its tax and mergers and acquisitions practices.

The transformation has coincided with significant growth in both the scale and complexity of the firm's work. Bazul LLC is currently acting for trading houses, shipowners, financial institutions and private principals on disputes involving claims measured in the billions, securing mandates spanning across multiple jurisdictions including India, the Middle East and China, alongside its Singapore work.

Singapore’s position as the region’s neutral seat for dispute resolution makes it an ideal base for the firm. Its independence from transactional work allows it to act against banks, funds and major corporations where full-service firms may be constrained by conflicts of interest or commercial relationships.

The name Bazul LLC reflects the firm’s focus and the direction in which it continues to build the practice.

In July 2026, the firm acquired approximately 10,000 square feet of freehold premises at VisionCrest Orchard, following 24 years in Singapore’s Central Business District.

The change from Oon & Bazul LLC to Bazul LLC is a change of name only. There is no change to the firm’s legal entity, UEN, ownership, partners, lawyers, existing client engagements or ongoing matters.

Bazul LLC enters its next phase with a clear focus on high-stakes disputes.
