Nobles acted as legal counsel to Western NIS Enterprise Fund in connection to the financing of Urban Space 500 and Veterano Brownie within Impact Investing Program. Implemented by Western NIS Enterprise Fund, the program aims to support private businesses, whose primary objective is to achieve social and environmental impact in Ukraine.
Since 2015, the program has been providing loans to social enterprises in partnership with Oschadbank and Kredobank. Nobles’ legal guidance included structuring, documenting and implementation of the low interest loans mechanisms. The legal work for Urban Space 500 and Veterano Brownie projects was implemented by Nobles’ Associate Bogdan Burlaka under general coordination of Partner Roman Shulyar.
Restaurant Urban 500 is the first social restaurant in Kyiv, which offers a platform for social initiatives. The company is committed to reinvesting 80% of the profit in social projects aimed at the development of the Kyiv city.
Veterano Brownie, which is a part of Veterano Group, aims to help ATO veterans go back to normal way of life through reentering the workforce. Additionally the cafe will remit 10 % of profit to the families of the deceased veterans.
Roman Shulyar said: “We are delighted to support our longstanding client, Western NIS Enterprise Fund, in these transactions. Social loans mechanisms are important for Ukrainian business: they improve investment climate in Ukraine and support meaningful entrepreneurship.”
