Fenech Farrugia Fiott Legal ushered in the New Year with the appointment of Dr Theresienne Mifsud and Dr Caroline Grech as Partner and Associate respectively.

Dr. Mifsud graduated Doctor of Laws from the University of Malta in 2002 and subsequently, in 2006, obtained a Magister Juris degree in European and Comparative Law from the University of Malta. With her appointment as partner, the Firm will further enhance its service offering in the commercial law sector, notably in Technology Law, Intellectual Property and elecommunications. To this end, Dr. Mifsud has also been appointed to lead a Telecommunications and Media Unit which has been purposely set up by the Firm to target companies seeking specialised industry services in this important area of legal practice. Dr Mifsud’s experience as Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs of one of largest main telecommunications players in Malta over the last ten years places the Firm in a very good position to deliver specialised knowledge in all matters governing the regulation of electronic communications, media and technology.

Dr. Grech attended the University of Malta, and successfully completed a Bachelor of Laws degree followed by a Doctor of Laws degree in 2015. In 2016, Dr. Grech furthered her legal studies at Erasmus University Rotterdam in The Netherlands, where she read for an LL.M degree in Commercial Law with a specialised focus on Maritime and Transport law. Dr. Grech had, prior to joining the Firm, gained some considerable experience in the handling of blockchain and digital technology start-ups attracted by Malta’s recent regulatory inroads in the sector. For this reason, besides assisting the Firm’s partners and senior associates in several other practice areas, Dr. Grech will play a pivotal role in the continued development of its technology law practice.

Fenech Farrugia Fiott Legal is a Malta-based law firm, with offices in Birkirkara and Valletta, which provides a comprehensive range of legal services to local and international businesses.
