THE DENVER-BASED FIRM JOINS 20+ OTHERS IN INAUGURAL CLASS FOR MIDSIZE FIRMS

(Denver, Colo., Sept. 16, 2020) – Moye White LLP is pleased to announce that it’s joining the inaugural class of midsize law firms seeking Mansfield Rule certification, which aims to boost the representation of women and diverse lawyers in law firm leadership.

The Midsize Mansfield Rule for law firms with fewer than 100 lawyers launched September 15, 2020. Like the original Mansfield Rule Certification Program, created and launched by Diversity Lab in 2017 and now in its fourth iteration, the Midsize Mansfield Rule is a program that measures if law firms have affirmatively considered at least 30% women, attorneys of color, LGBTQ+ and lawyers with disabilities for leadership and governance roles, equity partner promotions, formal client pitch opportunities, and senior lateral positions.

“It has always been important to us as a firm to advance equality and inclusion within Moye White and in the community where we work and live. We’re proud to be a part of the effort to close the gender and diversity gap in the legal profession,” said Managing Partner Tom List. “By setting benchmarks to track and measure our progress, the Mansfield Rule allows us to actively demonstrate our commitment to increasing equity, inclusion and visibility within our own firm and in the legal community as a whole.”

The Midsize Mansfield Rule certification process has been fine-tuned to boost diversity in leadership for firms with smaller lawyer populations, single office locations, and leaner firm leadership structures. The certification period is 18 months and runs through March 15, 2022 to provide ample time for firms to take action on the required hiring, promotion, and any leadership transitions.

Participating in the Mansfield Rule builds on Moye White’s continued commitment to diversity and inclusion in the legal profession, and adds accountability to its aspirations.
