The Annual List Ranks Firms By Headcount

(Denver, Colo., Dec. 8, 2020) – Moye White LLP is pleased to announce it is currently the 12th-largest law firm in Colorado, by headcount, according to Law Week Colorado’s 2020 Colorado 200. The firm moved up two spots due to the firm’s 14 new attorneys.

The Colorado 200 list also provides insights into the region’s mergers, diversity initiatives, firm demographic breakdown and trends in the industry. Law Week notes that overall attorney numbers went down from last year, with a reduction of 55 total attorneys. The publication notes, “The whole number reduction isn’t too eyebrow-raising on its own, but when considering the average office has just 23 attorneys, the reduction represents two law firms’ worth of lawyers.”

Law firm mergers have hit a 10-year low as of Q2 2020, and of 57 mergers announced to date, no significant mergers involved Colorado law firms. In addition, the list notes that only five Colorado law firms have more than 100 local attorneys, and 10 law firms have fewer than 80 attorneys.
