Monereo Meyer Abogados has promoted Alberto Suárez Tramón to partner in its corporate and M&A team. The move is part of the firm’s strategy to reinforce its corporate law practice and respond to the growing demand for corporate advisory services in Spain.

According to data from TTR Data, the Spanish market recorded 3,336 mergers and acquisitions in 2025, 19% more than in 2024, with a total value of around EUR 103.1 billion. At the same time, Spain continues to evolve into an investment destination for European industrial groups. According to data from the Foreign Investment Register, cited by ICEX Spain Export and Investment, Germany ranks among the leading investors in Spain, with direct investment exceeding EUR 33 billion and more than 1,800 companies with German capital operating in the country, enhancing the dynamism of cross-border corporate transactions, particularly in the middle market segment.

In this context, Monereo Meyer Abogados has established a Corporate and M&A practice focused on advising international companies operating in Spain, particularly groups of German, Austrian and Swiss origin. The team advises multinationals and investment funds on acquisitions, corporate restructuring and corporate governance of Spanish subsidiaries. Monereo Meyer Abogados’ Corporate and M&A practice is recommended by Chambers and Partners in its ‘Foreign Expertise Germany’ section.

Nadja Vietz, partner and head of the Corporate and M&A practice, notes that the promotion reflects the firm’s commitment to internal talent development and strengthens its capacity to advise international clients on their investments and corporate operations in Spain.

Alberto Suárez Tramón specialises in corporate and commercial law, with experience in middle-market M&A transactions, structural modifications and shareholders’ agreement negotiations. Throughout his career, he has advised international groups on acquisitions and corporate reorganisation processes, and has served as secretary or deputy secretary of the board of directors at various Spanish companies held by foreign investors.

The new partner was recognised by the international rating agency Leaders League for the Corporate and M&A practice for three consecutive years (2022-2024).

He holds a law degree from the Universidad de Oviedo, a Master’s in Business Law from the Centro de Estudios Garrigues, and has completed the Advanced Programme on Legal Aspects of Financing at IE Law School.

His working languages are Spanish and English.
