Navigating life after a severe injury can be incredibly challenging, both physically and emotionally. At Morr & Co, we specialise in providing comprehensive legal support and guidance to individuals who have suffered life-changing injuries.

Our commitment goes beyond legal representation; we aim to facilitate recovery and rehabilitation, ensuring our clients receive the necessary care and resources to rebuild their lives.

So, Charlotte tell us about your role at Morr & Co?

I joined Morr & Co in 2019, I am now a Partner and I head up the Personal Injury & Clinical Negligence team. I oversee a team of highly skilled legal professionals dedicated to advocating for clients who have suffered serious injuries.

My responsibilities include managing complex legal cases, providing expert guidance to my team and ensuring that each client receives personalised and compassionate service.

I am deeply involved in all aspects of case management, from initial consultations to court representations, ensuring that our clients’ needs and best interests are always prioritised.

Tell us about your background in Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Law

For over 20 years I have worked with clients who have sustained life-changing injuries, in particular brain injury, spinal injury and complex musculo-skeletal injuries including amputations.

I act solely for Claimants and specialise in high-value claims and claims with complex liability and causation issues. My particular specialism is spinal injury and in particular Cauda Equina cases. I have also dealt a lot with cases involving surgical error.

My team are particularly focussed on rehabilitation as we recognise that recovery and rehabilitation is often the most important issue for anyone who has suffered a major trauma.

We recognise that each case is unique and that access to prompt and intensive rehabilitation is in the best interest of the injured party.

What does being a Trustee at Headway UK entail?

Headway UK is a charity dedicated to supporting individuals who have experienced brain injuries and their families and carers.

They provide information, services and support as well as advocating for the needs of those impacted by brain injury. They also importantly raise awareness of brain injuries, the impact of such an injury and prevention strategies.

Through their campaigns and educational resources, Headway UK can help improve understanding of brain injury and help to reduce stigma associated around it.

Throughout my career, I have supported Headway UK and have encouraged my clients where appropriate to link in with Headway UK to gain additional support. I have arranged and participated in many fundraising events for Headway UK over the years and even managed to encourage my husband to run the London Marathon in 2014 to raise much needed funds.

In 2023, I was honoured to be invited to become a Trustee for Headway UK and I am now a Trustee for the South West London branch. Working as a Trustee has been very rewarding and has given me the opportunity to understand much more about the essential services and events that Headway UK facilitate.

As part of my role, I arrange regular social events that our service users and their support networks can attend. These events are always a fantastic opportunity to catch up with familiar faces and meet new members.

When would you direct a client to support services?

Whenever we work with a client who has sustained a brain injury, we always signpost them to brain injury charities, including Headway UK.

We encourage them to connect with charities and other members and join support groups to help them regain independence and improve their quality of life. The feedback we have received from clients is that the support has been invaluable to both them and their support network as they navigate their new life after a brain injury.
