“It feels incredibly exciting, and I look forward to further developing the firm and leaving my mark on its leadership. However, as with all partnerships, this role is not about traditional management; it is about being part of a close-knit team of partners who run the firm together.” says Malin von Heideken.

Malin succeeds Mattias Anjou, who successfully led the firm for the past four years.

At Hammarskiöld, the role of MP involves both leadership responsibilities and direct client engagement. Malin will continue advising clients in her areas of specialisation, which include Healthcare & Life Sciences, Commercial and EU & Competition Law.

“We are here for our clients. Personally, I find working in Healthcare & Life Sciences particularly exciting, given the rapid advancements in AI and the constantly evolving regulatory landscape. Across the firm, we are engaged in many exciting assignments, and we anticipate an active and promising market in 2025.”

Focus on Development and the Future

When asked about her main priorities as MP, Malin says:

“My primary focus is to further strengthen the firm’s position as one of Sweden’s leading business law firms, delivering the high-quality advice we are known for, while preparing for the demands of the future. We aim to drive innovation, embrace digitalisation, and leverage new technologies to streamline our work and enhance the quality of our services.”

Malin further emphasises the importance of investing in people:

“Attracting and retaining top talent is critical to our success. We will continue to invest in the development of our employees and foster an inclusive culture. A strong sense of ambition, coupled with humility in meeting high demands, is how we grow – both as individuals and as a firm.”

Understanding Clients’ Needs

Malin highlights the importance of truly understanding clients' businesses and challenges:

“Our work extends beyond the practice of law; it involves deeply understanding our clients’ operations and the unique challenges they face. We achieve this by working closely with them and fostering collaboration across the firm. This approach has proven to be highly successful and is one of the reasons we are consistently trusted to advise some of the world’s leading companies.”

Reflecting on what it takes to meet clients’ high standards, Malin notes:

“Being technically excellent in our field is a given, but it is not enough. To meet our own and our clients’ expectations, we need to be passionate, driven, and humble. Staying ahead of developments in the industry and understanding our clients’ evolving needs is equally crucial. My role as MP is to lead Hammarskiöld into a future where tradition and innovation come together, ensuring we remain a trusted and successful partner for our clients.”
