Sherrard Roe is pleased to announce that members Lisa Helton and Eric Osborne have been named Fellows of the American Bar Foundation (ABF). ABF Fellows are a global honorary society of lawyers, judges, law faculty, and legal scholars who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in the profession and service to society. Membership is limited to one percent of licensed U.S. lawyers and a limited number of international lawyers. To become a Fellow, a candidate is recommended by their peers and approved by the Board of the Foundation.
Lisa Helton focuses her practice on estate and trust litigation, appellate practice, general and commercial litigation, environmental litigation, landlord/tenant law, representation of homeowners and homeowner associations (HOAs) in HOA disputes, and IRS tax litigation and controversy. Lisa has been ranked Band 2 by the Chambers USA High Net Worth Guide for her work in Private Wealth Law, by Best Lawyers® as a 2025 “Lawyer of the Year” in Nashville for Trust and Estate Litigation, and as a 2023 “Lawyer of the Year” in Nashville for both Trust and Estate Litigation and Tax Litigation and Controversy.
Eric Osborne is an accomplished attorney and Professor of Contracts who focuses his litigation practice on contract disputes, antitrust, and novel constitutional and civil rights cases. He also serves as outside counsel to multiple churches and non-profits, is active with legal aid and the Tennessee Supreme Court’s Access to Justice Commission and regularly helps clients navigate issues related to the government, such as bid protests and government investigations. Eric is best known for this work handling high-profile matters involving novel constitutional and other issues of law.
