Woods is proud to announce the appointment of Laurence Ste-Marie as a Partner of the firm. Laurence has dedicated herself to resolving disputes over her decade-long career. The scope of her practice has taken her to all levels of court in Quebec, the Federal Court, and the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as several arbitration tribunals. Admitted to the bars of Quebec, Ontario and Paris, Laurence joined Woods in 2016 after practicing with a national law firm in Montreal and in international arbitration in Paris following her clerkship at the Supreme Court of Canada. 

Laurence has experience in a range of complex and sophisticated cases, including in banking, class actions, contractual disputes, professional liability, and defamation. Recognized for her discernment and versatility, the clients she serves appreciate her intellectual rigor and ability to offer personalized solutions. Since 2020, she has been recognized by one of the most prestigious legal directories, The Legal 500, as a Rising Star in Quebec, a category recognizing "lawyers who make a significant contribution to the practice of law". 

Laurence is particularly involved in the transmission of legal knowledge, specifically as an author and lecturer, as well as a teacher for the "Civil Trial Techniques" course at the Faculty of Law of the Université de Montréal. She also plays a key role in the firm's Professional Development Program.
