LatinAlliance Central America promoted two partners in August 2021, strengthening key business areas in the firm: Intellectual Property and M&A/Corporate.

They are Fabiola Torres and Michelle Sutter, who are part of LatinAlliance Central America. Both have developed their careers in the firm, with extensive experience and solid training in their respective areas of expertise.

These promotions take place in a context of continuous growth of LatinAlliance and confirm its strategy of internal development and leadership demonstrated by more than 28 years providing the highest level of professional service in Central America.

About Fabiola Torres

Fabiola Torres joined the firm in 2012 as a junior associate in the Corporate department. Subsequently, she began to show a special interest in Intellectual Property. After a few years, she took charge of such practice within the firm, leading a team of experienced negotiators and passionate problem solvers.

As head of the Intellectual Property department, she has negotiated several agreements with top-tier clients and regulatory entities in the region in various industries: R&D, food and beverage, technology, among others.

As an intellectual property professional, she is a member of INTA (International Trademark Association) and ASIPI (Interamerican Association of Intellectual Property). Last year, she was named Influential Woman in Intellectual Property 2020 by World Intellectual Property Review. Likewise, the practice she leads has been recognized by several international legal directories such as IP Stars and Legal500.

At the same time, Fabiola is part of the firm's Strategic Business Development Committee, ensuring the cross-functional operation of LatinAlliance, thanks to the knowledge acquired in her MBA from the prestigious Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez.

About Michelle Sutter

Michelle Sutter joined the firm in March 2019 as Regional Director of the corporate practice area. The corporate department is the largest in the firm in terms of team members, and the second-highest revenue earner, so managing it requires a high level of expertise, not only in technical law matters but also in commercial management.

Michelle Sutter has more than 22 years of professional experience in corporate, compliance, telecommunications, and banking matters at a regional level, having developed her career in multinational companies.

Since joining the firm, Michelle has led several transactions with renowned international companies and organizations in different industries, providing legal advice on compliance, mergers, and acquisitions, among others. Her previous professional experience appointed her as Head of CAM Compliance for Telefónica.
