Paris, March 20, 2020. Jeantet has advised STMicroelectronics, a major industrial player in the semiconductor industry, on its acquisition of Exagan SA, a company specializing in next-generation gallium nitride (GaN) electronic components.

The acquisition agreement closed between the parties provides for the acquisition by STMicroelectronics of a majority stake in a first stage and the remaining capital of Exagan twenty-four months after the closing of the first stage of the acquisition. Completion of the transaction remains subject to customary regulatory approvals.

STMicroelectronics, an international group created in 1987, is one of the world leaders in electronic components, particularly semiconductors. “Exagan‘s expertise in epitaxy, product development and application know-how would broaden and accelerate its roadmap and activities in the field of power gallium nitride for automotive, industrial and consumer electronics applications.” According to STMicroelectronics.
