Paris, 27th January 2021 – Jeantet advised LANXESS AG, one of the leading global specialty chemicals companies which is listed, inter alia, on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, on its acquisition of Intace SAS, a biocides specialist from Intace International SAS.

The transaction is subject to certain conditions and the parties expect to finalize the transaction in the first quarter of 2021.

The Paris-based biocide company Intace SAS is a manufacturer of specialty fungicides for the packaging industry. Its products are used in particular in paper, paperboard, soap packaging, labels and bank notes. In 2020, INTACE generated sales in the mid-single-digit million-euro range.

LANXESS achieved sales of EUR 6.8 billion in 2019. The company currently has about 14,400 employees in 33 countries. The core business of LANXESS is the development, manufacturing and marketing of chemical intermediates, additives, specialty chemicals and plastics.

The transaction would enable LANXESS to strengthen its biocide technology platform for
