Paris, June 7, 2022 – Jeantet and the Austrian law firm Wolf Theiss have advised the Agrofert group, a European leader in the production of nitrogen fertilizers, on the acquisition of Borealis’ nitrogen production business, which includes fertilizers, melamine and technical nitrogen. The offer values Borealis’ “nitrogen” business on an enterprise value basis of EUR 810 million.
With the addition of Borealis’ production assets in Austria, Germany and France, as well as its comprehensive sales and distribution network utilising the Danube River, Agrofert will complete and expand its capabilities to serve its clients across Europe. The transaction, which remains subject to certain conditions precedent and regulatory approvals, is expected to close in the second half of 2022.

With a consolidated turnover of 7.5 billion euros in 2021, the group comprises more than 200 entities and employs around 31,000 people. Agrofert is one of the leading European producers of nitrogen fertilizers, with production sites in Germany, Czech Republic and Slovakia.
