Shearman & Sterling advised Investcorp in connection with its acquisition of a majority interest in Viz Branz Holdings Pte. Ltd. (Viz Branz) from Pluto Rising Pte. Ltd. The deal was concluded in partnership with its Asia Food Growth Platform joint venture.
The firm also advised Investcorp in connection with the refinancing of Viz Branz's existing facilities with a S$180 million term loan and revolving credit senior facilities agreement and other debt financing related aspects of the transaction.
Founded in 1988, Viz Branz is a manufacturer and distributor of leading regional instant beverage brands. It produces, packages and distributes instant coffee mix, instant cereal mix and instant tea mix across Southeast Asia and China. The company is headquartered in Singapore.
Investcorp is a leading global provider and manager of alternative investment products. It has established a joint venture with CR Capital and Fung Strategic Holdings Limited. The investment platform primarily focuses on capturing the potential growth and market opportunities in Asia’s highly fragmented food sector.
