Mobile Health Units (MHU) were created by the Ukrainian Red Cross Society in 2015 to support Primary Health Centers where general practitioners work. With the help of MHU, the Ukrainian Red Cross Society provides primary health care to the population living in the territories most affected by hostilities and located in remote settlements.

MHU go to remote settlements where access to medical services is limited. Doctors examine patients, including carrying out diagnostic procedures, prescribing additional examinations and, if necessary, providing medications to vulnerable population. The Ukrainian Red Cross synchronizes the activities of its Mobile Health Units with state medical authorities and acts as their partner.

As of today, 128 Mobile Health Units operate in 22 regions of Ukraine. Unique units of professionals provide mobility, technical equipment and quick response to the medical needs of Ukrainian citizens. Since the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Mobile Health Units of the Ukrainian Red Cross have provided over half a million consultations.
