Last Friday 31 March was the deadline for new claims to join the
current tranche of the Group Litigation and in the week before the
deadline 60 new claims were issued by individuals represented by a
number of different law firms.

Hamlins have been Lead Solicitor in this litigation since December
2016, after achieving an amendment to the pleadings to allow Claimants
to plead that unlawful activities took place at The Sun newspaper, in
addition to the News of the World. Since Hamlins took on this role, the
Claimants have made significant progress in obtaining evidence and
further disclosure that supports the Claimants’ case and also implicates
 senior executives at News International.

Hamlins’ phone-hacking team are back in Court in June and the Trial is listed for October this year.
