Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP is expanding its Global Hospitality Practice across Asia-Pacific (APAC), further integrating lawyers throughout the region with the firm’s longstanding hospitality, branded residences, and real estate capabilities worldwide.
The expanded platform reflects the continued growth of Greenberg Traurig’s Real Estate and Hospitality practices and responds to increasing client demand for coordinated, cross-border counsel throughout the life cycle of hotel, resort, branded residence, mixed-use, leisure, and other hospitality assets across APAC, the Middle East, Europe, the Americas, and other key global markets.
“Asia-Pacific continues to be one of the world’s most active regions for hospitality investment, development, brand expansion, and capital flows,” Greenberg Traurig Asia Real Estate Practice Chair Joel H. Rothstein said. “By further integrating our hospitality capabilities across Asia-Pacific with our broader global platform, we are enhancing our ability to support clients pursuing opportunities throughout the region and beyond while providing seamless access to Greenberg Traurig’s multidisciplinary legal services around the world.”
With offices in Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore, and Tokyo, the APAC team supports a broad range of hospitality industry participants, including owners, developers, investors, lenders, operators, brands, family offices, and governmental entities.
The team’s lawyers advise on hotel and resort acquisitions and dispositions, development projects, joint ventures, financing transactions, fund and investment structures, hotel management agreements, franchise and licensing arrangements, branded residences, integrated resorts and gaming, mixed-use projects, hotel leasing, financing, restructuring, regulatory matters, disputes, and operational issues. Key markets include Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Mainland China, Australia, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, and India.
The team also advises on branded residence projects across APAC, an increasingly active segment of the hospitality market, helping clients address complex development, operational, and regulatory considerations.
The APAC expansion builds on Greenberg Traurig’s broader strategy of strengthening its hospitality capabilities in key growth markets worldwide, including the Middle East. The firm established new locations in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), in 2023, and further strengthened its regional platform with the opening of an Abu Dhabi, UAE, office in 2025, enhancing its presence in major sectors driving growth across the region, including real estate, hospitality, tourism, infrastructure, and private capital.
“Greenberg Traurig’s Real Estate Practice has been a defining part of the firm since 1967, and we have continually expanded our capabilities to meet the evolving needs of the global hospitality industry. Through the work of shareholders including Gary Saul and Samantha Ahuja in the United States, Stephen Kelly and Sarah Mahood in Dubai, and our teams worldwide, we have established a leading hospitality and branded residences practice advising on some of the market’s most sophisticated projects,” Co-President and Global Real Estate Practice Co-Chair Michael J. Baum said. “This expansion reflects our continued commitment to serving the global hospitality market and meeting our clients’ needs wherever they are investing, developing, financing, operating, and growing hospitality assets.”
The firm’s continued investment in hospitality includes the recent addition of Singapore Of Counsel Mitch Reynolds and Singapore Associate Belynda Ho, who bring deep hospitality experience to the region. Reynolds has advised on hospitality transactions globally for more than a decade, and Ho represents institutional investors, developers, family offices, owners, and operators in a broad range of hospitality matters.
Greenberg Traurig also has continued to expand its hospitality capabilities in the Middle East. In 2025, the firm welcomed Elias J. Hayek and Louisa Lynch as co-chairs of its Middle East and European Hospitality Group. Most recently, Real Estate Shareholder Ashia D. Adams relocated from the firm’s London office to its Middle East regional headquarters in Riyadh, demonstrating Greenberg Traurig’s ongoing commitment to supporting hospitality, tourism, and real estate development throughout the Middle East.
