Oon & Bazul is pleased to announce that Keith Han, Partner in the firm's Restructuring & Insolvency Practice, has been recognised in the Global Restructuring Review (GRR) 40 Under 40 2026.

Now in its third edition, the GRR 40 Under 40 list spotlights the next generation of accomplished young cross-border restructuring and insolvency specialists from around the world. This year's cohort, drawn from a call for nominations that began in March 2026, comprises 40 rising stars across 17 cities and 14 jurisdictions, spanning law firms, advisory firms, investment managers, banks, and academia. Winners are selected for demonstrating genuine cross-border experience, technical depth, and meaningful contribution to the profession, with each nominee required to be under the age of 40 as of 1 July 2026.

Keith's practice sits at the intersection of commercial litigation, arbitration, and restructuring, a combination shaped early in his career as he built expertise in contentious formal restructuring and insolvency proceedings alongside Singapore's development as a regional restructuring hub. That grounding has translated into a practice defined by strong technical ability, commercial awareness, and close collaboration across the many stakeholders that cross-border matters inevitably involve.

Among the matters that have defined his practice, Keith advised and acted for various entities within the Xihe Group and the Lim family in the multi-billion dollar restructuring and insolvency proceedings involving Hin Leong Trading, Ocean Tankers and Xihe Holdings, one of the largest restructuring and insolvency matters Singapore has seen, and one Keith took on during the height of the Covid-19 period.

Looking ahead, Keith points to Singapore's upcoming adoption of the Model Law on Enterprise Group Insolvency (MLEG) and the Model Law on Recognition and Enforcement of Insolvency-Related Judgments (MLIJ) as significant developments that will test new cross-border tools and shape new case law, alongside broader disruptions from geopolitical tension and oil price volatility that are likely to drive restructuring activity across Asia in the years ahead.

This recognition follows Caleb Tan's inclusion in the ALB Singapore Rising Stars 2026 and Bazul Ashhab's inclusion in the ALB Asia Top 30 Litigators 2026, both announced earlier this year. Recognition across the firm's disputes and restructuring practices reflects the depth of talent at Oon & Bazul at every level of seniority, and the firm's continued commitment to developing lawyers who deliver strategic, high-value outcomes for clients across borders.
