Dentons Link Legal has acted as legal counsel to State Bank of India (“SBI”) on providing financial assistance to Bhilwara Energy Storage and Solutions Private Limited (“Borrower”) for part financing the cost of establishing a 100 MW/200MW per hour battery energy storage system project for Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited at 220KV Khanpur AIS substation of GETCO in the State of Gujarat. The project is a part of the viability gap funding scheme for development of battery energy storage system from energy & petrochemical department, Government of Gujarat.
Dentons Link Legal advised SBI on (a) the contractual framework and bankability of the battery energy storage purchase agreement executed between SBI and Borrower; (b) drafting, reviewing, negotiating and finalization of the transaction documents; (c) advising SBI on implications of certain critical items such as creation of security over contractual rights of the Borrower and the entire transaction structure.
