Hong Kong, 20 October 2010: Expansion and marketing will be two of the key themes when Ally Law holds its Asia Pacific Regional Meeting in Perth next week.

Recruiting prestigious firms in key Asian jurisdictions remains a top priority for the global legal services organisation while an upgraded marketing programme is seen as essential for enhancing international awareness and exposure.

“We welcomed new Ally Law members in Japan and Vietnam last year and we are continuing efforts to team up with suitable firms in other strategic markets in the region,” said Boase Cohen & Collins Senior Partner Colin Cohen, who chairs Ally Law’s Expansion Committee.

“In particular, our focus is on South Korea and Taiwan, where we have done considerable groundwork, while Indonesia and the Philippines are two large jurisdictions where we are following up leads. Ally Law has strength in numbers in the US and Europe and there is an acknowledgement among all members that Asia Pacific has huge potential for growth.”

As well as lawyers, delegates in Perth will include marketing and business development directors from several member firms as Ally Law seeks to build its reputation with a co-ordinated marketing effort across Asia Pacific.

The Regional Meeting will be held at the Pan Pacific Perth hotel. After a cocktail reception on Wednesday evening, discussions and presentations will take place throughout Thursday followed by a Gala Dinner. Mr Cohen will attend together with Boase Cohen & Collins Marketing Consultant Niall Donnelly.

It is one of three Regional Meetings held annually by Ally Law. The Europe, Middle East and Africa gathering is currently taking place in Dubai while the Americas Regional Meeting is scheduled for 16-18 November in San Jose, California.
