Arias, Fábrega & Fábrega represented Empresa Panameña de Alimentos, S.A., a holding company with a portfolio of recognized brands such as Café Durán, Pascual, Pastas la Suprema and Super Fry, in the acquisition of Gold Mills de Panamá, which includes a portfolio of leading products such as wheat flour, corn flour, pancakes, hojaldres and empanadas mix, cake mix, syrups, honey, cornstarch, creams and oatmeal, pasta and baking powder, among others. This transaction was the result of a complex negotiation process among the buyer and more than ten different sellers, including several corporations, a public company, private foundations and individuals. According to Juan Carlos Jaramillo, President of EPA, the transaction was important in contributing to the “reactivation of the national economy and strengthening local industry…” while allowing EPA “to expand our portfolio and integrate a brand with a recognized and loved track record in Panama.”
