For purposes of improving the legal services in alternative investment area of insurance funds, and promoting the development of alternative investment products of insurance funds, Insurance Asset Management Association of China held a “Roundtable Forum for Legal Affairs in Alternative Investment Products of Insurance Asset Management” in Beijing Guobin Hotel on October 25th, 2016. Over 150 professionals from different law firms, insurance companies, insurance asset management institutions and credit rating companies attended this roundtable forum. Partner Mr. Guoping Du and associate Mr. Songjun Zhai from East & Concord were invited to attend this forum.
At the beginning of the forum, the supervisor of the Association introduced certain typical cases and legal outline of insurance funds investing in debt investment plans, equity investment plans and private equity funds. Later a partner and a representative from the insurance asset management institution shared some working experience relating to the alternative investment of insurance funds. During the discussion session, participants learned about the progress in standardizing all the legal documents included in debt investment plans. Many of the lawyers present provided significant suggestions to the Association regarding some articles in the model contracts.
Roundtable forum is a great platform for policy communications and solving the problems while dealing with insurance funds investing issues. This forum also offered a great opportunity for the lawyers to provide superior legal services to the insurance asset management institutions in the future.
