Leading legal business DWF has advised the shareholders of Bolton-based forecourt operator, Synergie Group Limited on their sale of Synergie to Motor Fuel Group (MFG), a top 50 Indies forecourt operator.

Synergie has 19 forecourts in the North West of England with many of them offering strong convenience and ‘food to go’ offers.

This acquisition by MFG will bring the total number of stations they own to 395, making them the second largest independent forecourt operator in the UK.

Anis Patel, one of Synergie’s shareholders said: “We found DWF to be the right firm for us in transacting this deal.  We have worked with Frank and his team before and found them to be very intuitive and diligent.  Their assistance on negotiating commercial matters was of a very high calibre and enabled the deal to progress relatively smoothly.”

The DWF team consisted of Frank Shephard, Vicky Ross and Matthew Judge (Corporate).

Frank Shephard Corporate Partner at DWF, said “We are delighted to have helped the shareholders of Synergie to achieve a successful exit. We have worked for the company for a number of years and having watched the team grow and develop the business to a very successful stage it was very satisfying to see them conclude a great deal for all parties.”

Other advisers on the deal included James Wild, Rikesh Patel and James Morris of RSM.
