Former president and founding member, Luis Rafael Pellerano, was also recognized.
The Mining and Oil Chamber of the Dominican Republic recognized Pellerano & Herrera for its contributions to the institutional framework of the extractive industry.
On the occasion of its twentieth anniversary, the Chamber recognized the firm, highlighting its work as a founding member of the organization and its Board of Directors.
Luis Rafael Pellerano, partner of the firm was also recognized, "as a founding member of the Mining and Oil Chamber of the Dominican Republic, for his commitment and dedication to the growth of the national mining sector during his tenure as the president during 1997 -1999 and 2010-2012".
"We are deeply honored to be acknowledged with this recognition," said Luis Rafael Pellerano, who received both recognitions, "and we are pleased, personally and on behalf of Pellerano & Herrera, to have contributed to the sustainable growth of the mining sector in the country".
Pellerano said that over the last 20 years the firm has accompanied the main investors in the mining industry in its development and evolution.
He stressed that the mining sector has led Dominican exports in the last five years and has been a driving force for the remarkable growth of the Dominican Republic's Gross Domestic Product.
These recognitions took place in the framework of the International Water and Mining Congress held by the Chamber in June, with the participation of all the main actors of the sector.
Among the attendees of the Congress were: Antonio Isa Conde, Minister of Mining; Steve Cote, Canadian Ambassador to the Dominican Republic; Johan Hernández, Deputy Minister of Soils and Water of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, as well as international representatives and other public figures from business and State sectors, Dominican Congress, among others.
