Budapest, January 3, 2023 - Global law firm Dentons advised Hungary-based aiMotive, a leading developer of advanced artificial intelligence and autonomous driving software, in connection with its sale to multinational automotive manufacturer Stellantis.

The acquisition enhances Stellantis' artificial intelligence and autonomous driving core technology, expands its global talent pool, and boosts the mid-term development of its new STLA AutoDrive platform. Ultimately, the deal is an essential contribution to Stellantis’ strategy to become a sustainable mobility technology company in the future.

Partner Rob Irving, Co-head of the Europe Corporate group, and senior associate Kamran Pirani led the Dentons legal team, which advised aiMotive on the deal. The Budapest-based team also included associates Sebastian Ishiguro, Iryna Nahorniak and Aliz Wulcz and partner Marcell Szőnyi, supported by the Frankfurt-based team lead by partner Gesine von der Groeben and senior associate Lieor Koblenz.

Rob Irving commented, “Our team in Budapest is proud to have taken part in this landmark technology deal. After advising on leading technology transactions in Europe for many years -- including several involving IT services and/or branded software resellers -- it was time for Dentons to make our mark in the Hungarian technology sector.”
