Wenger Vieli advised Smallpdf on all Swiss legal and tax matters in connection with the sale of PDF Tools to Apryse, a global provider of document processing technology backed by Thoma Bravo.
Founded in Zurich in 2002, PDF Tools develops high-performance PDF processing software and developer SDKs for companies and public-sector organizations. Smallpdf acquired PDF Tools in 2022 and supported the company in doubling its revenue and expanding its product portfolio. As part of Apryse, PDF Tools will benefit from a global platform, broader technological capabilities and an international customer network. The transaction allows Smallpdf to further focus on its PDF software platform, which serves tens of millions of users every month.
