We are advising Compañía Marítima Chilena in a proceeding filed by the Competition Authority (INDECOPI) related to an alleged cartel in the market of maritime transport of vehicles (consisting in an alleged mutual respect of accounts/clients, which would have led to the increase of rates).

This is a very important case since it involves the discussion on whether an international agreement allowing companies to agree commercial conditions can exclude this kind of practices from the scope of the competition law and, thus, whether such international agreement can be opposed to the competition authority in order to make it conclude the case.
