We represented Comic Relief in structuring the successful NBC Red Nose Day telethon in the US. Specifically, we:
- Helped form and setup the charity and its operations in the US
- Provided advice on structure, organization, and issues in connection with taking the charity’s campaign and its mission from UK to US.
- Worked out Comic Relief’s partnership deal with NBC.
- Negotiated the agreement with NBC to be overall collaborator in the Red Nose Day US campaign, including broadcast of 2 hour variety show/ telethon in support of RND (aired on May 26, 2016); and integration of RND with various other NBC shows, platforms and talent.
- Consulted on privacy, advertising, charitable solicitation/fulfilment and IP issues in conjunction with website and other promotional media and materials.
- Negotiate IP license arrangements.
- Advised, reviewed and negotiated sponsorship issues/arrangements including with Walgreens and other Red Nose Day Partners
- Advised on the restructure of Comic Relief, including /license of name from existing US entity.
- Advised on general corporate governance issues with respect to Comic Relief, including revising organizing documents, preparing internal policies and advising on board composition and structure.
- Advised on talent and performer agreements for RND campaign, appeals films, and promotion activities.
