COLUMBIA, SC (October 3, 2016) – Stephen Mitchell, managing partner of the Columbia office of Fisher Phillips, has been elected to the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce board of directors.
The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce is the state’s largest broad-based business and industry trade association representing thousands of businesses and more than one million employees. The organization works to find solutions for issues facing businesses, ensuring South Carolina is a top destination for economic development.

Mitchell’s practice emphasizes both employment litigation and traditional labor law. He regularly advises clients on collective bargaining, avoiding and responding to unfair labor practices, acquisition of unionized facilities, union organizing efforts, corporate campaigns, labor arbitrations, and work stoppages.
Mitchell is certified by the South Carolina Supreme Court as a specialist in employment and labor law and is a contributing editor of the Developing Labor Law. Mitchell is "AV" Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, has been listed in Chambers USA since 2007, included in South Carolina Super Lawyers since 2009 and has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America since 2010. He was also named to Columbia Business Monthly's Legal Elite of the Midlands in 2015 and is a member the John Belton O’Neall Inn of Court.
