Hong Kong, 3 September 2018: Boase Cohen & Collins Senior Partner Colin Cohen has praised the continuing excellence of the University of Hong Kong’s Faculty of Law after presenting the firm’s annual student prize today.

Mr Cohen attended the Faculty’s P.C.LL. Opening Ceremony, which marked the commencement of this year’s Postgraduate Certificate in Laws programme while highlighting the achievements of students who have completed the course. He presented the Boase Cohen & Collins Prize in Accounts and Financial Management to outstanding scholar Beatrice Li.

“As the Faculty of Law begins its 50th anniversary celebrations, it is worth remembering the huge contribution it has made to Hong Kong’s legal scene and its continuing commitment to excellence in nurturing the next generation of talented lawyers. We offer our sincere congratulations to Beatrice and we wish her every success in her legal career,” said Mr Cohen.

The BC&C prize is just one aspect of the firm’s strong links with the Faculty of Law. The HKU-Boase Cohen & Collins Criminal Law Lecture is a major highlight of the academic calendar and the firm is also a Senior Member of the HKU Charitable Foundation. Mr Cohen’s strong academic background includes being an Honorary Lecturer in the Department of Professional Legal Education.

After opening remarks by Professor Michael Hor, Dean of the Faculty of Law, the audience heard speeches from Melissa Pang, President of the Law Society of Hong Kong, and Philip Dykes SC, Chairman of the Hong Kong Bar Association. HKU academic Wilson Chow, Head of the Department of Professional Legal Education, gave the vote of thanks.
