With more than a decade of experience providing legal solutions for business development and dispute resolution, CEPD Abogados announces the promotion of Juan Pablo Obaid Lennon as a new partner of the firm.
With a strong professional background, Juan Pablo has built distinguished leadership within CEPD since joining the firm in 2023, focusing his practice on tax advisory services for major Chilean and international companies, investment funds, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals. Together with Juan Pablo Fell, Tax Partner, and a team of three associates, he has designed and implemented corporate and wealth restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, and project financing transactions.
Over the years, he has also represented clients in tax litigation matters, both in administrative proceedings before the Chilean Internal Revenue Service (Servicio de Impuestos Internos) and in judicial venues, including tax and customs courts, appelate courts, and the Supreme Court, effectively safeguarding the assets and interests of clients across a wide range of industries and economic sectors.
Juan Pablo is a lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. (Leonard B. Terr Memorial Scholarship – full tuition), as well as a Master’s degree in Tax Litigation and Tax Audits (candidate) from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. With over 11 years of professional experience, prior to joining CEPD he worked as a senior associate at Garrigues Chile and as a foreign associate at Álvarez & Marsal (A&M) in New York.
