Hong Kong, 6 November 2018: Boase Cohen & Collins’ proud tradition of nurturing young talent continued on Saturday as Wendy Kwan and Arthur Chan became the latest promising legal professionals with the firm to be admitted as Solicitors in Hong Kong.

The pair were joined by their families, friends and BC&C staff who turned out in large numbers to witness the formal ceremony at the High Court in Admiralty followed by a celebration lunch.

“Wendy and Arthur have made excellent progress since joining us as trainees from law school just over two years ago and we are delighted they have taken this latest important step in their careers,” said Boase Cohen & Collins Senior Partner Colin Cohen.

“We have now seen 10 young solicitors admitted in the past four years which is testament to our belief in giving youth a chance. Further, we are proud of the fact that more than half our current Partners joined the firm as either trainees or, in one instance, as a paralegal. It shows we offer a genuine career path and a chance to grow with the firm.”

Wendy studied law at the University of Hong Kong, during which time her continuous involvement in youth, community and leadership projects took her to Japan, Malaysia and then Shanghai, where she lived and worked for two months. In her final year she spent six months at Erasmus University in Rotterdam as part of an exchange programme. She remained at HKU to complete her Postgraduate Certificate in Laws in 2016.

Arthur graduated in finance and economics from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and completed his Masters degree in economics at University College London two years later. He worked as a paralegal in private practice before embarking on his Juris Doctor – a law degree for graduates from a non-law discipline – at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He completed his Postgraduate Certificate in Laws at the same establishment in 2016.
