PITTSBURGH – January 12, 2017 – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney selected Heather B. Brock to replace Susan A. Yohe as the firm's chief diversity and inclusion officer. Yohe, who retired at the end of 2016, served in this role for two years and was a practicing litigator for more than 30 years. Brock is a shareholder in the firm's labor and employment section and is based out of the Tampa office.

"We are very thankful to Susan for all her work regarding our firm’s diversity and inclusion efforts and for creating a number of successful internal and external programs and partnerships. We wish her the best in her retirement," noted Joseph A. Dougherty, Buchanan's CEO and Managing Director.

"Heather has been involved in diversity and inclusion issues throughout her career and is an excellent choice to take over the role and continue to build on Buchanan's commitment to diversity in hiring, retention and advancement of our attorneys," added Dougherty.

"I am honored and humbled to continue and advance the firm's work on these very important issues. Living in various parts of the country during my career has stoked my passion for diversity and inclusion, and a desire to move our industry forward," said Brock. "Achieving diversity of thought, style, experience, inclusion and approach of attorneys from the various constituencies will help us create the most effective teams to innovatively and efficiently serve our clients."

Brock will continue her practice which focuses on management-side litigation and proactively and strategically problem-solving for employers.

She has served on the firm's Diversity Committee, the firm's Women's Business Development Committee, assisted with the summer associate program, and helped create the firm's first in-house training and integration program for new and lateral lawyers. She has also been involved with the Florida Diversity Council and is a frequent speaker on a variety of workplace topics.
