Blake Morgan has significantly strengthened its offering on the south coast with several key appointments to its teams in Portsmouth and Southampton.

The firm has made a number of hires in the last three months as it continues to build on its ongoing success in the Solent region, and celebrates a recent run of client wins.

Its Pensions, Real Estate, Commercial Litigation and Private Law teams are among those which have been strengthened by the recruitment drive.

The firm’s Pensions Team has a new partner in Ron Burgess, who joins from Olswang, where he advised corporates, trustees and insolvency practitioners on the full range of pension-related matters.

Meanwhile its Southampton-based Real Estate team has three newly-recruited solicitors - Samuel Mann, Molly Siggs and Elizabeth Cooke-Smith.

In the Commercial Litigation Team, Heather Welham has joined as a Senior Solicitor. Previously at Shoosmiths, she has particular expertise in litigation matters in the retail sector and in alternative dispute resolution, which sees problems resolved out of court.

Meanwhile the firm’s private law team has been significantly strengthened with three new appointments in its Portsmouth office.

Succession and tax specialist Darren Price joins as an Associate. Darren, who arrives at Blake Morgan from Glanvilles, brings a wide range of experience in wills and trusts, Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection matters, and inheritance tax planning.

Darren will be working with new recruit, Joshua Boughton, who also specialises in succession and tax and joins Blake Morgan as a Solicitor.

Residential conveyancing specialist Estelle Baldry is another new addition to the private law team. Estelle, previously a solicitor at Thomas Eggar, joins Blake Morgan as a Senior Solicitor.

The appointments are made as Blake Morgan celebrates a successful year for its South Coast specialists with a diverse client base that includes: The Southern Co-operative, Wightlink, Raymond Brown, Radian Group, Premier Marinas and Beale plc.

The firm’s south coast offices also enjoyed a very strong presence in this year’s Legal 500 directory, which recommends lawyers from across the UK. Praising its “depth of legal skill and experience”, the directory described Blake Morgan as “one of the leading full service law firms”.

Mike Wilson, Managing Partner at Blake Morgan, said: “This has been a superb year for Blake Morgan’s south coast offices, reflected in the recent run of client wins.

“As the firm continues to thrive on the south coast and beyond, we continue to strengthen our teams and to broaden our offering to clients.

“This run of new appointments is part of that strategy, and I am very pleased to welcome these talented new team members to the firm.”
