The Berlin House of Representatives today elected Raue lawyer Lucy Chebout as a new judge of the Berlin Constitutional Court. Lucy Chebout is thus one of six new constitutional court judges in Berlin.
"The election of Lucy Chebout to this important role at the Constitutional Court fills us with great joy and pride - the firm warmly congratulates Lucy Chebout on this great honour", comments Dr Wolfram Hertel, Managing Partner of Raue. "With her highly regarded proceedings on parentage law before the Federal Constitutional Court, and her career as a lawyer, she has more than proven herself for Berlin's highest court. After just a few years with us, Lucy Chebout has developed into a real legal personality. We look forward to continuing on this path with her as she will make a significant contribution to the firm's reputation with her commitment and dedication.
Lucy Chebout is a certified family law specialist at Raue and Vice President of the German Association of Women Lawyers. In addition to law, she also studied gender and Islamic studies. She spent her legal clerkship at the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection and at the Federal Constitutional Court. Last year, the German magazine DER SPIEGEL honoured Lucy Chebout as a "heroine of everyday life" in its "People of the Year 2023" series.
