BBGS Abogados Colombia marked the beginning of its thirtieth anniversary with the introduction of its new partners, Claudia Lozano Afanador and Lorenzo Pizarro Jaramillo, during an event held at the Gun Club in Bogotá on February 29th.

 

Claudia, a lawyer with extensive experience in Intellectual Property advising both national and foreign companies on the protection, monitoring, and maintenance of their trademarks and related rights, joins BBGS Abogados as a partner in the same field. She will lead the current challenges facing industrial property, especially in the context of technological advances such as artificial intelligence and the protection of trademarks for virtual goods and services in the metaverse.

 

Meanwhile, Lorenzo, who previously served as Director of the Conflict Resolution Area at BBGS Abogados, will assume the role of Partner responsible for further positioning and strengthening this area within the firm, with the vision of offering new and innovative services in all aspects related to this practice area. Lorenzo has extensive experience in arbitration, litigation, and conflict resolution. He advises national and international clients in various litigation matters before national and international courts of arbitration, in areas including contractual and non-contractual civil liability, renewable energy, consumer law, entertainment law, advertising law, copyright law, and new technologies, among others. His practice also highlights expertise in bankruptcy and corporate reorganization regimes, representing both debtors and creditors. He holds a specialization in International Business Law from Universidad de los Andes, a specialization in Civil Procedural Law from Universidad Externado de Colombia, as well as an LLM in International Dispute Resolution from King's College London, where he graduated with honors and a distinguished thesis. He has been recognized by Legal 500 as a Rising Star in Dispute Resolution – Litigation, and by Leaders League as a recommended lawyer in the areas of Intellectual Property, Arbitration, and Dispute Resolution, as well as highly recommended in Restructuring & Insolvency.
