BASHAM, RINGE Y CORREA REPRESENTED LYONDELLBASELL AND SCHULMAN IN THE ACQUISITION FOR USD 2.25 BILLION DOLLARS.
Mexico City – September 6th, 2018.- Basham, Ringe y Correa, through its antitrust team represented by the Partner Amilcar Peredo and the associates Carmina Paredes and Manuel Iglesias, advised LyondellBasell and Schulman, Inc. in the pre-merger filing before Mexico's Competition Commission ("COFECE") in order to obtain antitrust clearance for the acquisition.
The transaction needed to be authorized by the antitrust regulators of the United States, China, Brazil, Rusia, European Union, Turkey and Mexico.
As a result, the operation creates an industry-leading compounding business and establishes a platform for future growth to reach into additional high-growth markets, Complementary strengths and capabilities will provide customers with a full range of innovative products and end-to-end solutions.
Other legal firms involved in the transaction: Shearman & Sterling coordinated the filing globally on behalf of LyondellBasell and Skaden Arps did the same on behalf of Schulman.
The operation closed on August 21st, 2018.
