HOUSTON – AZA’s more than $78 million jury win over Samsung Electronics Co. has made another national top verdict list for 2025.
TopVerdict.com found this victory, which grew to more than $92 million by the final judgment, was the 67th highest in the nation. Topverdict.com recognizes U.S. law firms and attorneys who have obtained the highest jury verdicts, settlements or bench awards in the nation.
National legal website Law360 previously named this jury verdict one of the top 10 patent verdicts in the nation.
AZA is frequently included in national lists of top verdicts, including in the intellectual property, energy and healthcare sectors. AZA has been noted in these lists for victories on both sides of the bar.
In September 2025, an East Texas federal court jury awarded AZA’s client Anonymous Media Research Holdings the full $78,512,999 requested from Samsung for infringing on two patents.
Lead lawyer Jason McManis, the head of AZA’s intellectual property section, said the verdict validates more than 21 years of the company’s hard work and dedication. “Our clients stood up for their ideas, and the jury stood with them,” he said. The AZA trial team included Weining Bai, Warren McCarty, Louis Liao, Chun Deng, Ab Henry, Sean Keller and Hailey Pulman.
The case is Anonymous Media Research Holdings, Inc. v. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., et al. in the Eastern District of Texas case number 2:23-cv-00439.
