HOUSTON – AZA partner Kevin Leyendecker has been elected to the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an elite invitation-only group of the country’s leading judges and civil trial lawyers.
Mr. Leyendecker is the fifth AZA lawyer to join this group where members are judged for, among other things, strong personal character, honorable reputation and a high degree of trial experience. He joins his partners John Zavitsanos, Joe Ahmad, Todd Mensing and Sammy Ford IV.
Mr. Leyendecker has tried nearly 40 cases to verdict in state and federal courts and arbitration proceedings in Texas and across the country over the last 30 years. He has successfully defended cases for Fortune 500 companies and individuals involving hundreds of millions in commercial and personal injury damages. He has defeated class action claims that sought billions in damages and recovered more than $1 billion in settlements on behalf of clients in a wide variety of consumer, fraud, contract and personal injury matters.
The CEO of one of the nation’s leading financial firms said, “Kevin is a hell of a trial lawyer, and I would not go to trial without him.” The chief litigation lawyer for a major energy company said when sued, his team discusses how to “go full Leyendecker on them.”
Mr. Leyendecker has been selected by his peers for The Best Lawyers in America and is a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America. He was also named by Lawdragon among the 500 top litigators in the nation.
