We are pleased to announce that ARIAS served as legal counsel to Holcim in the acquisition of 100% of Cemex's operations in Guatemala, from the due diligence phase through to the completion of the transaction. This acquisition not only strengthens Holcim's presence in the country and the Central American region but also accelerates its mission to introduce innovative and sustainable solutions in Guatemala's construction sector, driving a more efficient, sustainable, and environmentally friendly future.

By virtue of this acquisition, Holcim's operations in Guatemala include a cement grinding plant strategically located 5 km from Puerto Quetzal, the country's most important seaport. It also features two fixed and one mobile ready-mix concrete plants, a maritime terminal, and five land distribution centers. Holcim entered the Guatemalan market in 2023 through the majority acquisition of "Minerales y Agregados," specializing in mortars and adhesives, and has since added 150 new employees in Guatemala. ARIAS Guatemala advised such acquisition back then as well.

At ARIAS, we are proud to have been part of this transaction, reaffirming our expertise in providing effective legal solutions with quality and precision.
