On November 16, 2021, Resolution 22/2021 of the Argentine Anti-Corruption Office (AO) was published in the Argentine Official Gazette, by means of which the AO set up the Federal Program for the Promotion of Integrity and Transparency Policies in provinces and municipalities.

The goal of this new Federal Program is to promote the design, implementation and evaluation of integrity policies at the local level, both within provinces and municipalities. To this purpose, the AO will seek to provide technical assistance and support to different provinces and municipalities in connection with their integrity policies and their self-assessment to identify their needs and vacancy areas, as well as to collaborate in the proposal of public policies and the development and implementation of integrity and transparency training programs. The AO will also encourage different public agencies to exchange experiences and good practices throughout the program.

The Federal Program will function within the Transparency Policy Planning Directorate of the AO and will be part of the project developed by the AO within the framework of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

This initiative is part of the activities promoted by the AO to fulfil Argentina’s international commitments and seeks to reinforce the federal character of the entity and mainstream integrity and transparency actions in different public agencies at the provincial and municipal jurisdictions.

Further details about this project are expected from the AO in the upcoming months.
