Hong Kong, 18 October 2017: Global legal services organisation Ally Law continues to expand with the addition of heavyweight law firm Smith Anderson, based in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Smith Anderson, founded in 1912, is the largest business and litigation law firm in the state’s famed Research Triangle – named after the three major research universities Duke, NC State and the University of North Carolina.
The news has been welcomed by Boase Cohen & Collins Senior Partner Colin Cohen, who chairs Ally Law’s Expansion Committee. “As a worldwide grouping, we are continuing to strengthen, whether this is in mature and highly competitive legal markets such as the US or in jurisdictions where there is tremendous scope for advancement,” he said.
“Smith Anderson represents a huge addition to our Americas region and this follows the recent recruitment of new firms in Finland and Israel as we expand our footprint in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Of course, we are also firmly focused on growth in Asia Pacific and we will be updating Ally Law members on our progress in this regard when we attend the APAC Regional Meeting in Perth next week.”
Boase Cohen & Collins is Hong Kong’s sole representative in Ally Law, which comprises more than 60 independent law firms in over 40 jurisdictions. The organisation helps clients overcome their international legal and business challenges.
