Dirk has a broad public law practice comprising fundamental legal matters and proceedings in European, constitutional and administrative law, with a particular focus on regulated industries, including: energy regulation; M&A transactions and restructurings in the energy and other regulated sectors; infrastructure projects; renewable energy projects and regulation; climate change and CCS; health care/life sciences; compliance; data privacy and white collar.

Career

Lecturer, Trier University, 1994-97; joined Hengeler Mueller in 1999; secondment to London law firm 2001-02; partner since 2006.

Professional Memberships

Member of the Member of the Lawyers' Parliamentary Assembly of the German Federal Bar ; Member of the Advisory Board, University of St. Gallen Law School.

Numerous publications on various regulatory topics, including energy and renewable energy regulation.

PhD (Dr iur); master’s degrees in administrative sciences (Mag rer publ) and European Law (LLM); honorary professor.
